Nim Pro
One subscription, both products. €5.99 a month or €49.99 a year, with a seven day free trial.
Nim is free to use. Reading a page costs nothing at all: the dictionary for Chinese, English and Spanish lives in your browser, so looking a word up is instant and unmetered however much you read.
Pro raises the daily limit on the things that need a model to answer:
- Reading subtitles that are burned into the picture.
- Translating subtitle lines as a video plays.
- Explanations, examples and follow-up questions.
- Building a flashcard from a word you saved.
Reading the subtitles out of the picture happens on your own computer and costs nothing. What counts is translation: the free allowance is about five hundred subtitle lines a day — some forty minutes of a drama, longer for a film. Pro is about five hours a day, more video than anyone studies in a sitting.
One email, no password. Signing in first is what lets the subscription find your account — and it is the same account the iPhone app and the extension use, which is how one subscription covers both.
One subscription covers both the app and the extension. Sign in with the same email in each and Pro follows you.
